Mixed returns on election night

Contests that I was interested in, and their results:

• McCain (R) v. Obama (D), Pennsylvania (rooting for Obama)
  • Obama wins Pennsylvania, wins Ohio, the next President of the United States.
• Prop 8, California constitution amendment, (No on Prop 8)
  • Prop 8 passes. I found it ironic that on a day when an African-American became President for the first time in US history, Blacks voted to strip gays of their right to marry.
• Norm Coleman (R) v. Al Franken (D), Minnesota Senate (Franken)
  • Franken trails by 762 votes, out of nearly 2.9 million cast. There will be a recount for the results to become official.
• BJ Lawson (R) v. Somebody, North Carolina 4th district (Lawson). Based on early voting numbers, he will clearly lose.
  • Poor guy, lost badly.
• Sean Tevis (D) v. Somebody, Kansas State Representative in District 15 (Tevis). Tevis is the xkcd comic strip candidate.
  • Tevis lost a close race.
• Prop 2, City of Austin. Just confused and what to know what this issue is about. This issue is making a lot of noise in Austin.
  • Prop 2 did not pass. 52% against, 48% for.
• Montana presidential election. How many does Ron Paul get.
  • Ron Paul got about 2%.

The first results from New Hampshire are already in, Ron Paul (write-in) got two votes out of 29.

You were a charming little girl who caught my eye. I ogled at you and forgot about you. I was pleased to talk to you later, when we first met. You were a nice person to talk to and be around with. With your adorable smile you drew everyone to you. You made me wonder how you could be nice to everyone around you.

We became good friends and I enjoyed every moment I spent with you. I was starting to like you, but I pretended to ignore it. I treated you special and you knew it. You were closer to me than you were to others. Time just flew when I was with you. You were the impeccable person. Anything that could be identified as a flaw, I found a way to characterize it as a virtue. Before I realised, I was deeply in love.

I counted your affable demeanor, nice words, phone calls, small gifts as a nod for me. I was intoxicated by hope and dreams. I would spent countless hours dreaming about the wonderful life we would have ahead, treating each other, with love and respect.

Do these castles that I have built really exist, or are they a figment of my imagination. My mind is too scared to think rationally. One fine day, will I hear that you never loved me? Will you say "Let's just be friends"? Do I deserve you? I can't live with a broken heart.
